Chateau Duhart-Milon 2023

Château Duhart-Milon, located in the heart of the Pauillac vineyard, has a storied history dating back to the 18th century. It was established by a privateer under Louis XV who retired to the town’s port and became known as Sieur Duhart. Originally, the wines of Milon served as an annuity for the seigneur de Lafite and were considered a Second vin.

In the renowned 1855 classification for the Paris Universal Exhibition, Chateau Duhart-Milon was classified as a Quatrième Grand Cru Classé.

In 1962, the estate was acquired by Domaines Baron de Rothschild, who also owned the prestigious neighboring Chateau Lafite Rothschild.

The 75-hectare vineyard of Chateau Duhart-Milon is located on fine gravel soils with a limestone subsoil. The grape varieties planted are 67% Cabernet Sauvignon and 33% Merlot. The wines are aged for 14 months in French oak barrels, with 50% being new barrels.
