 Chateau La Tour Carnet, the oldest chateau in the Medoc, traces its origins back to the 12th century. Its medieval architecture features a tower built in 1120, surrounded by a moat. Among its notable owners was the family of Michel de Montaigne, one of France’s greatest philosophers and the author of “Essais,” who served twice as Mayor of Bordeaux. The vineyards of Chateau La Tour Carnet were established in 1409.
