Description Chateau Larcis Ducasse 2023

Chateau Larcis Ducasse 2023 – a Premier Grand Cru Classé from Saint-Émilion Combining Vivacity and Elegance

The Estate

Chateau Larcis Ducasse has been in existence since the 17th century. The estate focuses on preserving and revealing its terroir and meticulously caring for its vines. Elevated to the rank of Premier Grand Cru Classé of Saint-Émilion in 2012, this recognition was achieved through the efforts of Nicolas Thienpont, who took over the estate in 2002.

The Vineyard

Chateau Larcis Ducasse 2023 is a Saint-Émilion wine produced from an 11.15-hectare vineyard, with 9.37 hectares currently in production. The vines, averaging 35 years old, are planted on a mosaic of terroirs featuring clay-limestone soils over asteriated limestone, as well as clay-loamy and colluvial clay-limestone soils.

Vinification and Ageing

The wine undergoes maceration for 25 to 28 days and is aged for 16 to 18 months in barrels, with 50% new barrels and 50% previously used for one wine.

Blend

Chateau Larcis Ducasse 2023 is a blend of Merlot (86%) and Cabernet Franc (14%).
